Hot
applied thermoplastic is the preferred choice for road and car park markings, sometimes this product is not suited to
certain types of surfaces. Concrete, block paving and internal floors, such as smooth and power floated floors, offer less
favourable adhesion for thermoplastic paint. The surface has to be adequately free of all dirt and dust, then prepared by
way of shot blasting,or, with a suitable pre coat to which the thermoplastic paint can adhere. Movement within
block paving, where traffic moves the blocks, causes thermoplastic paint to crack and break up. Concrete surfaces are often
ribbed and the same problem arises. Power floated floors are known to be problematic, when attempting to paint due to
the lack of adhesion qualities. Preperation is the key to internal markings, often by way of shot blasting the
surface, or etching to create a textured surface. We use a range of products which are suited to your needs and after
consultation will agree with the best product. Internal paints are applied by use of our airless sprayers, a small petrol
driven sprayer which allows us to carry out the work of up to 4 people in a third of the time. Please ask us for details about
this.
We have successfully
completed many internal line marking jobs, using many variations of colours and indeed many different products. Many of these
works have been carried out due to the Current Health and Safety laws.
